Electricity 4 Gas by Peter Millward Review
by Peter Millward
Electricity for Gas is an e-book which is simple and easy to read. It’s a good reference for people just starting on their search for information about how to convert their car to electric.
The book gives a start-to-finish outline of the steps for doing a conversion. The diagrams are accurate.
At the end of this book is a complete Part Suppliers List which is helpful because it saves you time researching suppliers.
Also included is a long list of International Electric Vehicle Associations (we recommend that you join one near you).
One thing lacking in this e-book is mention of GMV (Gross Vehicle Mass) which is important when choosing a car to convert. Batteries are heavy and you need a car that can carry the load and has room for battery storage. You’ll need to do more research on your own.
It is very unlikely a conversion will only cost you $300 as suggested on their website. From experience, to convert a car to electric we suggest you do your own calculations (including parts, labour, and government rebates) then you should double the amount you came up with for a realistic prediction of the total cost of your project.
But this book will definitely be useful to you showing you how to save money by sourcing second hand, discounted and free parts and tools.
If you are planning to take action on a conversion you will need to do more research further to this book, but our suggestion that will save you time and effort is grab copy of Build Your Own Electric Vehicle to accompany this ebook Electricity 4 Gas.
